Research Area:
My research interest, in a nutshell, is to understand how partners are connected in couple relationships. Informed by critical epistemologies, I investigate how gender norms shape romantic relationship dynamics. Specifically, I draw on ecological and gendered lenses to situate individual cognitions and behaviours within broader sociocultural contexts, and to better understand how women and men exhibit both similar and distinct patterns in developing and maintaining intimate and connected relationships. I explore these inquiries primarily through quantitative approaches. Additionally, grounded in reflexivity and attentiveness to researcher positionality, I am also interested in integrating quantitative methods with other approaches, including qualitative and participatory research.
